Materials for Compiling a Review of the Research Works of the Professors and Lecturers of the F. E. Dzerzhinsky Siberian Technological Institute: for the Period 1917–1926
Abstract Generated abstract
This bibliographic review records the scientific research output of professors and instructors of the Siberian Technological Institute, also known as the Tomsk Technological Institute, for 1917 to 1926. Compiled from 245 bibliographic cards, it arranges publications according to the decimal bibliographic classification of the International Bibliographic Institute, with additional engineering classifications, and provides author, geographical, ethnographic, and subject indexes. The entries document work across natural sciences, engineering, mining, geology, metallurgy, industry, construction, hydrology, meteorology, cartography, and regional studies, with particular attention to Siberia and neighboring regions. The compiler notes that omissions and inaccuracies remain possible, making the work both a reference tool and a provisional basis for a broader review of research activity in the former Tomsk Province.

INTRODUCTION
The present work constitutes Part II of the “Materials for Compiling a Review of the Scientific Research Works of the Former Tomsk Province for the Years 1917–1926” and is devoted to the scientific work of the staff of the Siberian (Tomsk) Technological Institute.
The method of work is indicated in the program for the review of scientific research works proposed by NIBYURO under the Sibkraiplan. The material is arranged according to the decimal bibliographic classification of the International Bibliographic Institute in Brussels, Manuel du Répertoire Bibliographique Universel. Bruxelles. 1907; moreover, for the field of engineering knowledge I used both the original and the translation by N. S. Bogdanov, Classification of Engineering Knowledge According to the System of M. Melvil Dewey.
In all, 245 bibliographic cards were processed; for reasons of economy, only a very small part of them has been annotated and abstracted.
In the proposed review of the scientific research works of the STI (TTI), the possibility of omissions is not excluded. I shall be grateful for any indication of such omissions and inaccuracies.

(Prof. B. I. Slovtsov indicates that bread with yeast, prepared by Prof. S. V. Lebedev in Tomsk, preserving the yeast ferments, proved useful in secretory disorders of the stomach. Systematic experiments to study the action of yeast bread in various diseases were conducted by Prof. I. M. Levashev in the Therapeutic Hospital Clinic of Tomsk University in 1915—16. In 5 cases of diabetes, the consumption of yeast bread by Prof. S. V. Lebedev reduced sugar excretion to 1%. A case of a very severe form of Pemphigus, with a poor prognosis, was cured within 5 weeks by yeast (the disease of Prof. V. I. Elantsev).)
