The book describes the manufacture, from ready-made “constructor” parts, of simple mechanisms, uncomplicated machines, and also apparatus for carrying out experiments in mechanics. The material is grouped according to the divisions of mechanics.

The author gives a solution of the problem of dynamic pressures in kinematic pairs, illustrating the exposition with a number of practical examples of constructive designs for balancing inertia forces in machines.
