The collection is intended for persons studying the theory of the electromagnetic field in the scope of a program of higher education in communications. A large part of the collection is devoted to electrostatics. Much space in the collection is allotted to calculations in spherical and cylindrical coordinates, since spherical waves, the cylindrical shape of bodies, and axial symmetry are often encountered in communications practice.

The book is the first attempt in the literature to create a unified methodology for investigating heat-transfer processes during changes in the state of aggregation of a substance. The solution of the problem is given by extending to this range of phenomena the basic equations of hydrodynamics and heat exchange and the method of similarity theory. The general solution obtained is applied to a number of the most important heat-transfer processes in condensation, boiling, and ice formation. From the standpoint of the theory developed, all the principal experimental material published in the literature (more than 1000 experiments and observations), as well as a number of original experimental data, is analyzed.
