Greetings to Professor I. N. BUTAKOV

Deeply respected Innokenty Nikolaevich!

The Directorate, the Party Committee, the Local Committee, and the Trade-Union Committee of the Tomsk Order of the Red Banner of Labor Polytechnic Institute named after S. M. Kirov warmly greet and congratulate you on the day of your seventieth birthday.

In your person we highly honor an outstanding Soviet scientist and engineer, who has trained numerous cadres of Soviet engineers and scientists in the field of power engineering.

Your scientific works are well known among heat engineers. You have investigated the operation of steam engines under variable conditions, proposed a number of schemes for the utilization of heat waste from industrial enterprises, and developed the question of using exhaust steam from steam locomotives. You have proposed a system of so-called complex heat-power installations and energy systems. Also well known are your works on air economizers, steam lines of power stations, mechanical draft in boiler plants, and others. You have published 144 scientific and technical works and 12 articles on questions of the organization of higher education in the bodies of the VKVSh, MVO, NKTP. You carry out extensive public work, having been, since 1947, a deputy of the Tomsk Regional Soviet of Working People’s Deputies and a member of the Oblplan, and you also take active part in the organization and conduct of power-engineering congresses and conferences.

The Soviet Government has highly valued your merits, conferring upon you the title of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR and awarding you orders of the Soviet Union.

With all our hearts we wish you, dear Innokenty Nikolaevich, health and many years of fruitful activity for the benefit of our socialist Motherland.

The Directorate, the Party Committee, the Local Committee, and the Trade-Union Committee
of the Tomsk Order of the Red Banner of Labor Polytechnic Institute
named after S. M. Kirov.
