Improving the Technology and Organization of Work in the Driving of Main Horizontal and Inclined Workings during Mine Construction in Kuzbass
Abstract Generated abstract
This paper presents an album of technological charts intended to improve the mechanized driving of main horizontal and inclined mine workings during mine construction in Kuzbass. Drawing on domestic and foreign high-speed tunneling practice and the experience of leading Kuznetsk Basin brigades, the charts specify equipment sets, drilling and blasting schemes, work organization, crew assignments, technical and economic indicators, and power supply arrangements for typical workings. The proposed organization places reinforced-concrete tubbing installation and monolithic concrete support immediately after face advance, eliminating temporary support in relevant cases. Reported outcomes include roughly 20 percent higher monthly drivage rates and worker productivity, reduced labor expenditure, material savings exceeding 10 rubles per linear meter, and annual savings of more than 200 thousand rubles at two Belovo mine construction sites.

The album of technological charts has been developed taking into account the experience of domestic and foreign practice in high-speed driving of workings, as well as the experience of leading tunneling brigades of the Kuznetsk Basin. The technology and organization of work have been developed for the mechanized driving of main horizontal and inclined workings at mines under construction in Kuzbass.
The charts make use of new mine-driving machines and equipment, such as the loading machine with mounted drilling equipment 2PNB-2, the machine for inclined workings PPN-7, the rotary-percussion drilling unit BU-1, the self-propelled unit with the BUR-2 mounted equipment set, the self-propelled electric rotary drilling unit BUE-2, the Gorizont-1u equipment set, the KG-1t equipment set, etc.
The album of technological charts for high-speed driving has been developed in order to ensure the driving of typical, repeatedly occurring workings (field drifts, crosscuts, and inclined shafts) with ready-made rational solutions for the organization and technology of tunneling work, contributing to a reduction in labor intensity, improvement in quality, and reduction in the cost of driving workings.
The technological charts are intended for use by trusts and mine-construction administrations developing work-production plans for the driving of workings, and, after adaptation to the local conditions of specific workings, as a guide for work supervisors, shift engineers (mining foremen), and working brigades in organizing production and labor of workers when performing tunneling operations.
The present album of technological charts has been developed for the conditions of Kuzbass, taking into account the mine-driving equipment used in the system of the Kuzbassshakhtostroy combine, as well as machines, mechanisms, and sets of mine-driving equipment produced serially according to the drawings of the TsNIIPodzemmash Institute, KuzNIIshakhtostroy, and Technological Charts have a more detailed development than those issued earlier. In addition, each chart includes a power-supply scheme for the working being driven. In general, each technological chart consists of seven or more drawing sheets: a title sheet, a brief explanatory note, a sheet showing the set of mine-driving equipment and the cross-section of the working in operation and during driving, sheets of drilling-and-blasting operations and technological cross-sections, a sheet
organization of work, the assignment of workers to the operations of the cycle, the composition of the crew, the technical-and-economic indicators of drivage, and, finally, the drivage power-supply sheet.
Technological charts were compiled for workings of various cross sections and purposes, and also with different sets of mine-driving equipment. Three charts were developed for driving single-track workings through rock using different drivage technologies; five charts cover the driving of double-track workings through rock with different drivage technology, support, etc.; two charts were developed for driving deep inclined shafts; one chart was developed for driving an incline through previously grouted rocks using a KTG-1 unit; one chart was developed for driving a water collector with GAK-5 support; two charts were developed for driving a ventilation raise from one horizon to another and a hydraulic stowing raise from the surface to a horizon; two charts were developed for driving a coal-bypass chamber and a large-section block coal chute.
In the technological charts a more rational scheme for organizing the work (new technology) was developed, under which the installation of reinforced-concrete tubbings and support with monolithic concrete are carried out immediately after advancing the face, owing to which the need to erect temporary support is eliminated and, consequently, the labor intensity of the work is reduced and the cost of driving the workings is lowered. When work is carried out according to the new technology, the average monthly rates of drivage increased by 20%; savings on materials exceed 10 rubles per 1 linear m of drivage; the productivity of the drivage workers increases by 20%; labor expenditures are reduced from 13.3 to 9.9 man-days per 1 linear m (for a clear cross section of 13.4 m²). The introduction of the new technology at only two mines of Belovo Mine Construction Administration No. 2, in preparing new horizons, made it possible to save more than 200 thousand rubles per year.
